The challenge
A global enterprise had years of analytics invested in Tableau and a mandate to consolidate on Power BI. The estate was large, the calculated logic was intricate, and a manual dashboard-by-dashboard rebuild threatened to cost a quarter of analyst time, while risking the institutional knowledge buried in the old reports.
Our approach
Ngenux led the migration with nGenie, our automated tab2bi tooling. We extracted the Tableau metadata, converted calculated logic to Power BI DAX, mapped the dashboards, and generated a developer guidebook so the work did not depend on any single expert. Governed semantic models replaced ad-hoc definitions, so every KPI meant one thing across every report.
The outcome
The reporting estate moved to Power BI without losing a quarter (or the analysts). Automation cut the manual effort of recreation, governed models made the new stack easier to scale, and analysts were fluent on Power BI before the old environment was switched off.
